Written Language Choices

1. Write, animate and code a story on Elementari -  Using the link below, log on to Elementari and follow these easy instructions to create your story:

 

How to log onto Elementari:

  1. Click on this link: https://www.elementari.io

  2. Click on LOGIN in the upper right hand corner

  3. Your Username is the first initial of your first name followed by your last name.  For example, if your name is John Smith, your username would be jsmith

  4. Your Password is our classroom code: vdkvh

  5. Upon logging in you will be asked to change your password.  Remember to keep this password so you can log in and out as you work on your story!

  6. Click on the orange box that says “SELECT” under the tab that says “Mr. and Mrs. Kraye’s Creative Writing Contest.”

  7. This will take you to the rules and requirements for our contest.  Read them over and make sure to follow them or you will not be eligible for the $20 Amazon Gift Card.

  8. Click on the box that says “WRITE A NEW STORY.”

  9. That’s it!  Once you’re in there are a number of tutorials and how to videos about how to set up and code your story.  (The purple “TUTORIAL” button in the corner is a lifesaver!!!) Mrs. Kraye and I are super old and we fear computers, but we figured it out fairly quickly, so we KNOW that you can do it too!!!

Spelling Choices

 

1. Practice your spelling with Spelling Trainer Click on the link below and it will take you to a website called Spelling Trainer.  Using the “Choose a word list” pull down menu, select a 5th grade spelling list you would like to master.  (The 5th grade lists are towards the bottom of the pull down menu).  Once you have selected a list, there will be games and a variety of other fun ways for you to study your words. When you feel you have mastered your spelling words, take the online spelling test, (It will be the first button you see below your spelling list.)

Oral Language Choices

 

 1. Practice learning a new language with Duolingo Duolingo is offering a free online language learning program that's built to feel like a game. Users can learn over 30 languages as they compete with each other as they learn. Lessons are "bite-sized" which means they can be picked up in 5 minutes at a time.

  5. A little bit of everything choices

 

1. Play around on Adventure Academy Due to school closures, Adventure Academy is offering FREE memberships until the end of the school year.  This is a GREAT program that allows your child to wander around a virtual Academy that is filled with lots of amazing educational games and activities that cover pretty much every subject from Language Arts and Math to Social Studies and Science.  (I played around on it a bit, and I loved it!)  The game does have some system requirements and it takes up some space on your device, but here’s how to download it for FREE:

3.
